Michael Johnson is a personal CFO for successful families, a husband, and a father to three beautiful little girls. His “investment epiphany” led him to found Pillar Index Advisors – a clean break from over-priced, conflicted and self-serving “Wall Street” solutions. His expertise is in identifying what really matters when it comes to making family financial decisions.
Mike’s professional career has included varied roles and industries: analyst, portfolio manager, partner, and Investment Committee Chair for a regional wealth manager - later Regional VP for a large national wealth manager. He has also worked in alternative assets – including years raising capital in energy, private equity and venture capital. He was also a founding trustee in The Foundation for the American West, a Utah based community foundation.
Michael has a degree in accounting and an MBA from Brigham Young University. Raised in Omaha Nebraska, he is the third of four children born to two academics. He paid for his own college education and is a fervent believer in the “old-fashioned” mid-western values of hard work and honesty. He’s also a huge but frequently frustrated Husker football fan.
