Our July 12 program will feature our own Kevin Dauphinee and David Cappabianca. The topic will be “Deferred RMDs”. On July 2, 2014, the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service issued a regulation that saves taxes for retirees. Taxpayers owning “qualified accounts’, including 401(k)s, 403(b)s or traditional IRAs, can defer up to 25% of the combined account value up to a limit of $125,000 – delaying required minimum distributions on deferrals up to age 85. A tax savings in excess of $20,000 can be enjoyed if initiated prior to age 70 ½ and delaying distributions until age 85. Our speakers this month will discuss the do’s and don’ts of this new Federal ruling.
