Our February 6 speaker was JEFFREY C. BOYCE, J.D., LL.M.  Mr. Boyce's topic was WILLS AND TRUSTS, updating us on recent changes in the rules and regulations affecting these important documents.   

Mr. Boyce received his undergraduate degree at Utah State University, magna cum laude, in 1993.  He received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Brigham Young University, cum laude, in 1996 and a Master of Law in Taxation (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law in 1997.  He has received an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest professional rating for an attorney.  Mr. Boyce’s law practice is limited to estate planning, probate, business planning and taxation.  In addition to his law practice, his prior work experience includes being a Vice President and Regional Trust Manager for Wells Fargo Bank, working for the Internal Revenue Service and for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.  Mr. Boyce is licensed to practice law in Nevada and Utah, and has been admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.  He is a current or former member of the American Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, and the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council.  Mr. Boyce has worked with numerous charities or nonprofit organizations in southern Nevada, including the Planned Giving Committee for Vegas PBS and the UNLV Foundation.  Mr. Boyce received the 1999 Charitable Planner of the Year award from the University of Nevada Las Vegas Foundation.  Further, Mr. Boyce was selected by Vegas, Inc. magazine as a 2013 top lawyer for Las Vegas, Nevada; and selected by peers to the Super Lawyers of the 2014 Mountain States Super Lawyers list.
